Inquilina animata is a sculptural system composed of different organisms that coexist within a symbiotic structure.

Evolving from Inquilina protecta, the work expands the original sculpture into a complete system. What was once an external base becomes another organism, with its own morphology, function, and presence.

Each element is intentionally distinct. One behaves as a protective outer organism, another carries the central vital function, while the lower organism supports the system through small curled feet that suggest movement. Their different formal languages are part of the concept: rather than forming a single body, the organisms coexist and function together.

Inquilina animata can exist in multiple configurations. It can be presented as a complete sculpture, transformed into a vase and inhabited by flowers, or activated with light to become a lighting sculpture. Its different organisms can also be separated and rearranged into smaller sculptural compositions.

Rather than a fixed object with a single function, Inquilina animata is conceived as a small ecosystem whose identity shifts according to how its organisms are assembled and what inhabits them.

The sculpture is produced in resin and meticulously finished by hand. Every surface is refined, hand-pigmented, and sealed with a protective coating. Because the pigmentation is created individually rather than reproduced through a fixed industrial process, every Inquilina animata is one of a kind, with subtle variations in tone, depth, and translucency.
