Asterias reticulata is a lightweight yet structurally strong chest sculpture designed to frame and protect the upper torso. Weighing approximately 90 grams, the piece offers a powerful visual presence without physical heaviness.
The sculpture is fabricated from a resin-based composite using plant-based resin combined with rubber-enhanced resin. This material composition provides durability and impact resistance while maintaining a controlled flexibility at the edges. The shell itself is not elastic — it holds its architecture firmly, functioning more as an armor than as fabric.
Designed as a one-size piece, it adapts to the body through manual adjustment. Secured with leather lacing, the structure tightens and anchors to the torso, shaping itself through tension. Depending on anatomy and positioning, it frames the chest differently — offering lift, structure, and a protective silhouette.
Each piece is hand-dyed. The colorway shown in the photos is a reference, but slight tonal variations can occur due to the handmade pigmentation process and material behavior — making every specimen unique.
