Pendula duplex

2023

Pendula Duplex is a kinetic sculptural organism composed of two lattice-grown spheres connected by a slender, flexible mesh throat. The piece behaves like a self-righting entity—a roly-poly form that gently swings from side to side before returning to equilibrium. This oscillating motion gives the sculpture a quiet sense of life, as if breathing or shifting its weight in response to touch.

Each sphere is built from an intricate porous topology, creating surfaces that appear both crystalline and biological. The connecting mesh narrows and expands like a joint or spine, allowing subtle movement while preserving the sculpture’s unity.

Pendula Duplex blurs the boundary between static object and responsive organism, transforming mathematical balance into a poetic expression of motion, rhythm, and embodied presence.
