Bellula lucentis
2023
Bellula Lucentis is an early luminous sculpture exploring the transition from glued assemblies to gravity-supported interlocking forms. Its dome-like upper shell evokes a bioluminescent petal or jelly-creature, while the lower structure—one of the artist’s first gravity-based experiments—rests through naturally balanced joints. The piece blends delicacy and structural clarity, casting soft, diffused light through a finely patterned mesh. As a bridge between the primordial lamps and the fully modular later works, Bellula Lucentis marks a key evolutionary moment in the Luminaria series.
