Asterias Reticulata is a large-scale parametric wearable sculpture designed to inhabit the upper torso as an expressive, body-framing artifact. It can be worn over clothing or directly on the skin, shifting from jewelry to protective ornament depending on how it is positioned. Its expansive, star-like membranes are defined by a dense reticulated mesh that radiates outward from multiple computational growth centers, creating the impression of an alien exoskeleton or a piece of speculative armor. The piece is entirely rigid, forming a precise second exoskeleton around the wearer. Instead of draping, it maintains its own architecture, becoming a structural shell that merges deep-sea morphology with futuristic protective anatomy. By holding its form independently of movement, it transforms the body into a host for an alien armor—protective, ornamental, and unmistakably otherworldly.
