Aster fractalis

2023

Aster Fractalis began as a sculptural study before evolving into a parametric wearable sculpture that can be worn as an earring or pendant. Its form emerges from a fractal manipulation of an initial topology, generating a radiating structure reminiscent of star-like organic growth. Within its lattice, independent micro-elements are interlocked yet not fused, allowing subtle internal movement that brings the piece to life as it shifts with the body. These movable components serve both ergonomic and aesthetic purposes, balancing weight distribution while enhancing the dynamic, intricate presence of the object. The result is a complex interplay between computational precision and biomechanical intuition, demonstrating how topology-driven mutation can lead to entirely new species of wearable form.
