Altare primordiale
2023
Altare Primordiale is one of the artist’s earliest and most ambitious modular constructions—an ancestral table-sculpture resembling a ceremonial relic from an imagined ancient ecology. Composed of stacked lattice segments, its form rises as an organic column, culminating in a chalice-like surface that suggests both functionality and ritual presence.
Building it marked a turning point in the practice: the first moment when modular assembly, structural logic, and biological form merged. It required learning essential principles of gravity, weight distribution, and interlocking behavior, foundations that shaped all later sculptural systems.
Its morphology evokes coral pillars, fossilized spines, and sacred altars that appear grown rather than built—an ancient artifact standing at the origin of the artist’s sculptural lineage.
